All Lit Up is the Society’s 2019 Summer Show.  The Show is a nostalgic look at lamps used as lighting in Hummelstown area households.   There are 20 plus exhibits, each of which demonstrates a category of lamps such children’s lamps, coal oil lights, Early American lights, and cabin lighting.

As with other Society Shows, some lights are from private collections; others were donated, and others are finds at auctions and yard sales.  Many of the lamps are available for purchase by silent auction.

The Lamp Show is open on:

Wednesdays in July and August from 3:00 – 5:00 PM

Saturdays in July from 2:00 – 4:00 PM

Sundays in August from 2:00 – 4:00 PM

Saturday, September 14 During the Arts Festival

The Show is staged in the Society’s History House at 32 West Main Street, Hummelstown.  The History House was built in 1908 and retains original brass chandeliers in five rooms.  The History House with its original features is a fitting place for exhibits which showcase more than 150 lamps.

Society members, family and friends as well as the general public are  invited to attend the Show.  There is no charge for admission, but donations are appreciated to defray expenses.   If you have any questions or know a group which would like to schedule a special group tour, please call Josie Downey, the Society’s Office Manager at 717-566-6314 or Wade Seibert 717-919-0509.
